Good news for Applied Epic users: the signing process just got easier. InsureSign, the simple eSigning software trusted by thousands of insurance professionals, is now fully integrated with the Applied Epic agency management system.

eSignature Software - Applied Epic

Ready to give it a try? Securing signatures using this new integration is easy:

1.) From Applied Epic, visit the customer profile and upload the document you’d like signed to the “Attachments” screen.
Any file type will work.

2.) Right-click the document and select “Send to signature.”
This will open the InsureSign platform – directly from Applied Epic!

3.) “Drag and drop” your signature and information fields on top of your document.
It just takes a second. Note: No need to place fields every time, you can create one-click templates for commonly used forms.

4.) Send off to the customer for signing.
Since your customer’s information is already in the Epic system, his/her email address will auto-populate. No need to hunt down contact info or make sure it’s typed incorrectly. You can also schedule auto-reminders at this time, completely eliminating the need to prod your signer by email or phone. Once you’ve sent the form off, your signer won’t be able to submit it until every field is filled in. No more incomplete forms!

5.) Once your document is signed and returned, simply drag it back to Applied Epic to attach to the customer’s file.
And you’re done. Nothing to print, nothing to upload, nothing to file.

Plus, InsureSign has tons of “bells and whistles” designed to save you time, eliminate steps and reinforce your agency’s brand.

Five things we’re thankful for this Thanksgiving

We all know that Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on things we’re grateful for — and here at InsureSign, it’s a lot! 2018 has been a year of tremendous growth, success and excitement. As it comes to a close, we know 2019 will bring plenty of promising opportunities too.

Here are just a few things we’ll be reflecting on while we’re bringing our turkeys this year.

  • Being ranked as G2 Crowd’s No. 1 ranking for esignature software for usability and customer service — twice!

Four times a year, G2 CrowThankful this Thanksgivingd (the world’s leading business solutions review website) releases its seasonal report ranking esignature software. This summer, we climbed to the top of the list — and held onto that No. 1 spot for the Fall Report, too!

  • A red-letter year for new features, including the rollout of our long-awaited new premium offerings.

We’re constantly working to make it even easier for our customers to get documents signed. In 2018, we officially launched our new InsureSign Pro version, with features such as text-message signing, custom landing pages and email server integration. Plus, just in the past few months, we’ve added new innovations available for all users, such as multi-language support and the ability to recall and redo a document.

  • Growing the InsureSign team and building an even better support system for customers.

We’re grateful to the InsureSign team for making 2018 one of our best years yet. We’ve made several new hires that will have a huge impact on making the customer experience better and better in the future — including our team of developers, to which we’ve added two new developers just in the past month.

  • A year full of new integrations with leading agency management systems.

We know insurance agents rely on their AMS to keep their businesses running smoothly. Just last month, we became a Solution Partner for Applied Systems and are now fully integrated with the Applied Epic AMS. This comes on the heels of a full year of new AMS integrations, including partnerships with Hawksoft, NASA Eclipse and Partner XE AMS.

  • Lastly, we’re thankful for you.

It’s InsureSign’s customers that make all of this possible. Thanks to our tens of thousands of users for sticking with us this year — and big thanks to our many new users for letting us show you how our super simple e-signing tool can transform your business!

InsureSign’s latest eSign innovations that’ll make your life easier

At InsureSign, our awesome development team is constantly working on new features and eSign innovations to help make the signing process even easier for our users. eSign innovations- man in office chair

We recently ranked as the No. 1 eSignature software for usability, and we take pride in coming up with new complex innovations and fancy “bells and whistles” that are still super simple for our customers to use – and eliminate some hassles from their lives.

Here are just a few of our latest rollouts in the last few months, available to our regular and premium plan (“Pro”) users:

Reusable Forms (available to “Pro” users): Do you have one standard form that you’re constantly sending out for signing? With our “Reusable Forms” feature, you can create one document for signing, and then share its URL with as many people as you’d like over and over to have them fill it in and submit. You can easily add a link to the reusable form on your website or in general communications so you can literally secure signatures in your sleep.

Multi-Language Support (available to all users):  Do you have customers whose primarily language is Spanish or Canadian French? Now, you can easily change InsureSign’s instructional language with a click of a button.

Recall and Redo a Document (available to all users): Sent a document out for e-signature, but realized afterward you’d like to change something? You can now easily recall the document with a click of a button, and change participant info and fields – and even add new pages.

Multiple Participant Workflow: Are multiple people signing your document? Easily order who signs first, second, etc., by clicking a few buttons. This sequencing isn’t necessarily new to InsureSign users, but our “Pro” users (who can additionally secure signatures via text message and also electronically during in-person meetings) can now also mix and match each signer’s preferred signing method. Need one document signed by three people, and the first up is signing in person, the second is signing via text message and the third is signing via email? Not a problem, managing multiple participants and their preferred signing methods is super simple.

With any of our newest features, we must give credit where credit’s due: to our amazing customers. We regularly talk with our users to understand their evolving needs, and how best to make their lives easier by rolling out new features. All of the innovations we have in the works are sourced from their feedback.

How police departments are using e-signature tools for law enforcement

We hear it from our customers all the time: switching to an e-signature software saves time and resources, period. But it’s always fascinating to hear how a customer’s day-to-day changes when they start getting documents signed online with InsureSign.

For example, meet Officer Kyle Hall, a police sergeant at the North Vernon Police Department in Indiana.

police departments are using e-signature software

It’s easy to imagine that a law enforcement agency has a ton of internal paperwork to file – and it’s easy to see how InsureSign could help with new hire paperwork or vacation time requests. Officer Hall saw another opportunity, though: getting warrants signed.

“Before we switched to InsureSign, an officer had to take every warrant to a judge’s home, secure the signature, take it back to the station and file it,” Officer Hall told us. “It’s a process any police department is familiar with, but it could eat up 30 minutes to an hour per warrant.”

It took a little time to get the buy-in from the rest of the department and the courts, but once all parties had time to review InsureSign’s easy-to-use system, the whole North Vernon law enforcement system was satisfied with its security and legality. Once everyone was on board,   the warrant process at the police department shifted dramatically.

Now, instead of having taking a trip out to a judge’s home to get warrants signed at all hours of the day and night, a police officer simply files it via InsureSign and sends it to the judge. With a tap of a finger or a click of a mouse, the judge can simply and securely sign the warrant – and let the police officer get back to policing.

“Our judges can sign warrants instantly using a computer or a smartphone, and our officers spend much more time protecting our community,” said Officer Hall.

Also, he added, the department is saving a ton on taxpayer-funded gasoline and office supplies, such as printer ink and paper.

Next up: the North Vernon Police Department is rolling out InsureSign to other functions, like HR, to make sure officers and employees can easily and speedily sign administrative forms.

Q&A: How a Kansas law firm gets legal documents signed within minutes

Andrew Werring, Werring Law Office, LLCIt’s no secret: attorneys, paralegals and law offices in general have to deal with a lot of paperwork. Not only that, it’s an industry that requires meticulous record-keeping, and there’s little room for error when it comes to getting signed documents right the first time.

Andrew Werring, a native of Atchison, Kansas, opened his own legal practice in 2005 in his hometown. At the Werring Law Office, LLC, his team focuses on criminal defense, debt collection, estate planning/probate and domestic matters.

We sat down with Andrew to see how our easy-to-use e-signature software, InsureSign, is helping him clear cases off the docket incredibly quickly – all with the peace of mind that comes from security.

InsureSign: Tell us a little about your practice.

Andrew Werring: We’ve been practicing since 2005 in a small community in Kansas. We have a general practice focusing on creditor rights, criminal law, and matters of estate planning and probate.

InsureSign: What was life like before InsureSign? How did you get documents signed before?

Andrew Werring: Prior to using InsureSign, we would obtain signatures with a simple pen and paper. We then progressed to emailing or faxing, then having pro se litigants sign and return by fax or email. Some could “sign” by using a photo-editing software. Such steps often took a great deal of time and delay in getting the signed copies back to our office for filing.

InsureSign: How are you using InsureSign in your practice? What kinds of forms or agreements do you typically use InsureSign for?

Andrew Werring: We use InsureSign daily to obtain signatures from pro se litigants. We regularly use the program to obtain signatures for contracts as well as for court documents, such as Agreed Orders of Judgment, as well as other agreements to return to court. We like that we can send documents for signing by text message, and schedule an automated daily reminder for the recipient to sign and return the documents.

Those who have used InsureSign have really spoken highly of the software and its convenience. Our judges allow us to file the document with the additional data page InsureSign provides, as we can prove that we’ve obtained permission to use the electronic signature of opposing counsel/party. InsureSign’s certification page makes that extraordinarily easy.

InsureSign: How has your firm changed since adopting InsureSign?

Andrew Werring: Our ability to obtain and file signed documents has sped up exponentially. What used to take hours at best can now be handled in a matter of minutes and even seconds. We even debate using the program for in-person signatures because it’s so easy to use.

InsureSign: Which InsureSign features have been most useful?

Andrew Werring: The daily (or other frequency) reminders are wonderful. That tool allows us to ensure the person has not only seen the document, but actually signs it.

InsureSign: What would you tell another attorney who’s considering trying InsureSign out?

Andrew Werring: With the increased prevalence, and in some cases mandatory, signing of documents for electronic filing by using an “/s/ NAME” signature, I think the situation is ripe for abuse from all sides. I believe that the software and its simplicity allows for more assurance on the part of the “signor” that what they have consented to being filed is what is, in fact, filed.

With the ability to drag and drop any document into InsureSign, you can quickly create and email a proposed document for signing to a party without having to print, sign, and scan the same. It’s just simply quick and easy to use.

How to grow a business: Four software recommendations from InsureSign’s CEO

b2b software recommendations from InsureSign CEOThere’s nothing quite like the magical moment when you realize: there’s a tool that can do that thing that’s taking up all of your time.

In fact, that’s exactly why my company was born. Back in 2012, I became annoyed that a simple signature tool didn’t exist … so we created it. It’s one of those software products that instantly makes your day-to-day that much simpler.

Every day, I use a slew of other tech products designed to make businesses more efficient. Listed below are several tools we use at InsureSign to maximize our employees’ time, gain better insights that support our sales efforts, and streamline workflow. • AskNicely helps us get feedback from our customers on a continuous basis. It helps InsureSign drive customer happiness by collecting feedback directly after an experience and enabling your team to take action immediately.
  • Chargify keeps our billing straight with minimal effort from our small, busy team. This company offers “elastic billing,” which translates to hyper-personalized offers for customers as the first step in building lasting relationships.
  • Chartmogul automates your subscription revenue and customer reporting. Just connect your data and ChartMogul will calculate and visualize your most important metrics. These insights have been incredibly useful for us, helping us evaluate the success of our sales team—and reward them accordingly.

Of course, I have to mention InsureSign: an e-signature software designed to simplify any forms, signed agreements and/or contracts. InsureSign takes a pen-and-paper process and turns it into a simple, immediate mouse-or-finger process. Demo InsureSign here.

Women in tech: How one woman left her teaching job to become a rock-star developer for InsureSign

Women make up more than half the workforce, but less than 20% of U.S. tech jobs. It’s clear that American companies still have a lot of work to do when it comes to closing the gender gap in the tech industry.

That’s why women in tech like Amanda Schuff, a Front-End/UI Developer at InsureSign, have such compelling stories to tell. (InsureSign is a simple and secure e-signing software based in Charleston, S.C., with tens of thousands of users.)

Read on to learn more about how Amanda made the jump to a development job… and how it’s going, a year and a half later.

Q: What’s your role on InsureSign’s development team?
Amanda: I’m a front-end developer. My role is anything having to do with the user experience or the user interface. I make sure the program is intuitive, that it functions well and that it’s easy to use.

Q: You didn’t start your career in tech, did you? Tell us about your career before InsureSign.
Amanda: Before I started with working with InsureSign, I was an elementary art teacher. I did that for three years.

Q: Interesting! What was it that compelled you to make that shift?
I’ve always had a passion for it. I was always just the “tech person” in my family — I had a knack for it, and had the interest. I didn’t really have a mentor, though. A lot of people in tech have someone guiding them along the way. That wasn’t really the case for me, so when I went to college (the first in my family), I didn’t really know what I was doing.

I was a teacher for three years and got burned out really fast. I was exploring other options, like getting a master’s or another undergraduate degree, and that’s when I heard about the development boot camp I ended up doing.

Q: And now you’ve been with InsureSign for a year and a half. What originally drew you to InsureSign?

Amanda: Joe [InsureSign founder Joe Floyd] and Kris [InsureSign’s lead developer Kris Gholson] were really trying to build something from the ground up. Insuresign had a desktop application that it wanted to move onto the web, and that’s something I focused on in my boot camp.

InsureSign ticked all of my “must-have” boxes: it’s a small company and very employee-focused. I loved the idea of building something from scratch — making something really good and making it quickly. Because we’re a small team, we’re able to do a lot.

Q: What do you like about working here now? What’s unique about InsureSign?

Amanda: To me, the environment and the culture are really great. I came from the education sector, where everything is very traditional and clearly defined in terms of what you can or shouldn’t do. Tech isn’t like that, and InsureSign, in particular, is laidback and flexible.

We have fun and the small team environment is wonderful. We have a great application that we’ve been able to bootstrap together, and we have great relationships with each other. Plus, Joe is the best manager I’ve ever had. He lets us have a lot of input.

Q: Any tips for women looking to make the jump into tech, especially those currently in other fields?

Amanda: Don’t be afraid or intimidated! You’re already a working professional in your own right. Those skills will easily translate over to anything you want to do, tech or otherwise. It’s never too late to start over or start fresh!

Q&A: How an Atlanta startup hub simplifies event bookings

The coworking space and start-up hub trend is showing no signs of slowing. DeskMag’s 2018 Coworking Forecast estimates that, by the end of 2018, approximately 1.7 million people will be working in around 19,000 coworking spaces.

Atlanta’s Switchyards Downtown Club is a perfect example of that trend. Its 90-year-old building in downtown Atlanta is home to some of the city’s most interesting up-and-coming consumer brands — plus, Switchyards hosts exciting events for brands of all sizes.

We sat down with Kellie Coker, Events Coordinator at Switchyards, to see how an easy-to-use esignature software, InsureSign, is adding precious time back into her day — by simplifying the event-booking process.

Atlanta’s Switchyards Downtown Club- startup hub

InsureSign: So, what’s Switchyards?

Kellie Coker: We’re a B2C startup hub for design entrepreneurs. We also rent out our space for events, and have hosted some of the biggest brands in the world, like Google, CNN, WordPress and Uber.

InsureSign: How are you using InsureSign for Switchyards?

Kellie Coker: We use it for event rental and conference room rental agreements.

InsureSign: What was life like before InsureSign? How did you get documents signed before?

Kellie Coker: I was working out of Google Drive. We were basically typing up contracts using a template, populating it, then sending it to the client. They would send it back, then I’d have to send it to different people on my team to sign, then send it back to the client. It was a multistep process.

InsureSign: How have things changed since adopting InsureSign?

Kellie Coker: The process is seamless and much quicker and easier. It takes care of a lot of the steps I was doing manually.

Kellie Coker, Events Coordinator at SwitchyardsInsureSign: Tell us about your InsureSign experience so far. What features have been most useful?

Kellie Coker: I really like that once the signatures are all complete, it sends it out to all participants straight away. That was manual before, so it just takes care of it for me. It’s nice and saves me time.

InsureSign: What would you tell someone who’s considering trying InsureSign out?

Kellie Coker: I would ask them what they’re using now and how long it takes them. If they’re doing anything manual that InsureSign can simplify, I’d say just do it. It makes your life a little bit easier.
